Mary Waters

Mary A. Waters is Professor of English and Chair of the English Department at Wichita State University in Wichita, KS, where she teaches eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British literature, literary theory, research methodology, and digital humanities. Her publications include British Women Writers and the Profession of Literary Criticism, 1789-1832 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2004) and the edition British Women Writers of the Romantic Period: An Anthology of Their Literary Criticism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009). Articles and chapters have appeared in Eighteenth-Century Studies, Nineteenth-Century Prose, Women’s Writing, and several essay collections. A series of edited critical essays by Romantic women writers is in progress, published as part of The Criticism Archive, a division of The Poetess Archive (http://idhmc.tamu.edu/poetess/).
