Ian Wallace

Ian Wallace studied German and French at the Universities of Oxford, Tubingen, Lausanne and Heidelberg. He taught at the Universities of Maine and Dundee before becoming Professor of Modern Languages at Loughborough University in 1984. He is now Emeritus Professor of German at the University of Bath. His published research has focused on the literature of the GDR and German exile literature. He founded the journal GDR MONITOR in 1979 (renamed as GERMAN MONITOR after the demise of the GDR). He has been President of the International Feuchtwanger Society since 2001.
