Donald M. Hassler

Donald M. Hassler is professor of English at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He writes mostly on science fiction and has authored eleven books that include studies of Isaac Asimov, Hal Clement, and Erasmus Darwin. His most recent book is an edited collection of essays titled New Boundaries in Political Science Fiction due in June 2008 from The University of South Carolina Press. Earlier he had co-edited a similar volume of essays titled Political Science Fiction (1997) also published by South Carolina. He served many years as editor of the journal Extrapolation , completing his term as exeutive editor in 2008. He is currently treasurer of the Science Fiction Research Association. His archive of manuscripts, which includes book drafts, poems, and other writings, is held by the library at Ohio University and is indexed online.
