Charlie Butler is a Senior Lecturer in English at the University
of the West of England. Charlie's books include Four British
Fantasists: Place and Culture in the Children's Fantasies of
Penelope Lively, Alan Garner, Diana Wynne Jones and Susan
Cooper (2006) and Teaching Children's Fiction (ed.,
2006), as well as many articles and chapters.
Charlie is also the author of six novels and two shorter books for
children and teenagers, including Calypso Dreaming (2002),
The Fetch of Mardy Watt (2004), and Death of a
Ghost (2006).
