Tom Duggett is Lecturer in English Literature at Xi'an
Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China. He is the author of
the MLA prize-winning book 'Gothic Romanticism: Architecture,
Politics, and Literary Form' (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010), and
numerous articles and essay reviews on Wordsworth and Romanticism,
as well as published undergraduate research on the 30s poet W. H.
Auden ('English' [2005] vol. 54, no. 210). He received his PhD from
the University of St Andrews in 2007, and held a Teaching
Fellowship at the University of Bristol before relocating to China.
His new research project, 'The Staring Nation', explores the
interaction of pictures and poetry in the formation of British
national identity in the Romantic period.
