Robert Kusmer, Ph.D, M.L.S., is an associate librarian at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, U.S.A.), where he serves as the original cataloger for German-language publications, the humanities, theology/Catholic Americana and music, as well as the collection development liaison for German language and literature. His professional background also includes work as an adjunct instructor for elementary German.
Dr. Kusmer is active in the Association of College and Research Libraries' Western European Studies Section as contributor to the column "New Publications of Note" in the WESS Newsletter, and as an abstractor for the review journal Reference Reviews Europe. He compiles the quarterly electronic Oliver Leonard Kapsner, O.S.B. Cataloging Bulletin. He is the contributor responsible for foreign language dictionary entries in the (non-English) Germanic languages in the American Library Association's Guide to Reference. He has written articles on German libraries and publishing, the Leipzig Book Fair and Germanists.
