Clara Escoda

Clara Escoda Agustí, born on 12 January 1979 in Barcelona, Spain, graduated in 2002 at the University of Barcelona with a major in English Studies, and in 2004 she completed an MA in the Humanities in Hood College (Maryland, USA), with a concentration on African American literature. Her final research project or minor thesis was on the work of Toni Morrison and Gayl Jones. She currently teaches English Literature and Shakespearean Theatre as a part-time professor at the University of Barcelona, where she is completing her PhD thesis, which focuses on contemporary British theatre and, in particular, on the plays of Martin Crimp. She has published articles on African American literature, on theatre and performance, and on Martin Crimp’s plays.
