William Collins Donahue is Chair of the Department of Germanic Languages and Literature at Duke University. He is author of The End of Modernism: Elias Canetti's Auto-da-Fe (Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 2001), which was awarded the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for Studies in Germanic Languages and Literatures by the Modern Language Association of American in 2002, and most recently of Holocaust as Fiction: Bernhard Schlink's "Nazi" Novels and Their Films (New York: Palgrave/Macmillan, 2010). At Duke he is a member of the faculties of German Studies, Jewish Studies, and the Program in Literature.
