Leland Poague

Leland Poague is an emeritus professor of English at Iowa State University, though he has also taught at SUNY Geneseo and the University of Rochester. He has authored, edited, or co-edited books on Frank Capra, Ernst Lubitsch, Billy Wilder and Leo McCarey, Howard Hawks, Susan Sontag, and Alfred Hitchcock. He is also the co-author, with William Cadbury, of Film Criticism: A Counter Theory. His main interests are aesthetics and the philosophy of criticism, especially as they bear on the discipline of film study.
