Leofranc Adrian Holford-Strevens

Having proceeded MA from Christ Church, Oxford, in 1970, I was awarded a D.Phil. in the following year for a thesis 'Select Commentary on Aulus Gellius Book 2.' My working life was spent at Oxford University Press until my retirement as Consultant Scholar Editor in 2011. Apart from the writings on Gellius listed in my contribution, I have published articles on classical, computistic, and musicological subjects; besides The History of Time: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford: OUP, 2005); together with Bonnie J. Blackburn I have published The Oxford Companion to the Year (Oxford: OUP, 1999) and the edition Florentius de Faxolis: Book on Music
