Nick Turner is an Associate Lecturer at the Universities of Central
Lancashire, Edge Hill and Salford. His specialisms are post-war and
contemporary British fiction, contemporary women's writing,
literary prizes, realism and the canon. His publications include
Post-War British Women Novelists and the Canon (Continuum,
2010), and articles on Iris Murdoch, and realism in contemporary
British fiction. He is an occasional reviewer for the Times
Literary Supplement , and convening the Barbara Pym centenary
conference in 2013. He has given conference papers on writers such
as Doris Lessing, Sylvia Townsend Warner, Anita Brookner, Barbara
Vine and A.S. Byatt, and is currently working on a monograph on
post-war British women novelists and realism.
