Carey Seal is an assistant professor of classics at the University
of California, Davis. He received his Ph.D. in classics from
Princeton University and his B.A. in classics from Yale University.
His research interests are in Latin literature and Greek and Roman
intellectual history. He is currently at work on a book entitled
Philosophy and Community in Seneca’s Prose. He has written
for the Literary Encyclopedia on Cicero’s speech in defense of
Lucius Licinius Murena (article published August 2010) and on
Lucretius (in progress).
