Adele King is professor emeritus of Ball State University and now lives in Paris. She has written 2 books on Camus (one in 1964, the second in 2010), and edited a collection of essays on L'Etranger. She has also written books on French women novelists, Proust and Paul Nizan. Besides modern French literature, she has written on Francophone African literature, including two books on Camara Laye. Her current interests are in recent writers of African origin now resident in France and the United States.
