Sonia Assa-Rosenblum is Associate Professor of French and Spanish
at the State University of New York College at Old Westbury. She
teaches courses on Translation, Women's Writing and 20th Century
French and Spanish Literature. Her primary field of specialization
is Surrealism and the Avant-Gardes. Her current research focuses on
work by 19th and 20th century women authors and filmmakers such as
Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, Assia Djebar, Paule Constant,
Emmanuele Bernheim and Agnes Varda. Her work has appeared in Women
in French Studies, Nottingham French Studies, Le Maghreb
Litteraire, Etudes Francophones, Studies in 20th Century
Literature, The French Review and Modern Language Studies.
