Daylanne K. English is an Associate Professor in the English department at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. She is the author of Unnatural Selections: Eugenics in American Modernism and the Harlem Renaissance (2004). She has published essays on African American literature and culture in such journals as American Literary History, American Literature, and Critical Inquiry. She is a member of the MLA's Black American Literature and Culture Division Executive Committee through January 2012 and is a member of the MLA Delegate Assembly. She is currently completing a second book titled Political Fictions: Time and Justice in African American Literature. She is also just starting a third book project on Afrofuturism.
