Daylanne K. English is a Professor in the English department at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. She is the author of Unnatural Selections: Eugenics in American Modernism and the Harlem Renaissance (2004). She has published essays on African American literature and culture in such journals as American Literary History, American Literature, and Critical Inquiry. She has been a member of the MLA's Black American Literature and Culture Division Executive Committee and a member of the MLA Delegate Assembly. Her second book, "Each Hour Redeem": Time and Justice in African American Literature was published March 2013 by the University of Minnesota Press. She is currently at work on a digital humanities project on Afrofuturism.
