C.J. Gomolka graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA and an MA in French literature as well as a BM in music performance before going to the University of Maryland, College Park where he is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Modern French studies. His research is focused on gay male identity in the 19th century with offshoot interests in 19th century sexology, psychology, decadence, journalism, gay travel, and GLBT studies and theory. He has published on several of these interests.
