Adam White obtained his PhD from the University of Manchester. He has taught in English Literature at the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is an editor at The Open University and has published a number of essays on British Romantic and Victorian-era poetry, including articles on Lord Byron, Robert Burns, and John Clare. He is currently writing a monograph on Clare's work. Recent articles include an essay on Byron, death, and the Gothic.
