Aurelien Gautherie

Aurélien Gautherie teaches Classics at the Lycée saint Étienne in Strasbourg (France). He holds the agrégation in Classical Literature (2007), an M. Phil in Classics (Uni. of Cambridge, U.K., 2006), a Master Degree in Classics (Uni. of Strasbourg, 2006), and was Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Strasbourg (2010-2011). He holds a PhD in "Sciences de l'Antiquité", having worked on Rhétorique et thérapeutique dans le De Medicina de Celse , co-supervised by Prof. Yves Lehmann (Uni. of Strasbourg) and Prof. Philip van der Eijk (Humboldt Universität zu Berlin). He has written forthcoming articles on “Medical dialogue in the books on dietetics in Celsus’ De medicina” (in Michaelides, D. (ed.), Medicine in the Ancient Mediterranean World, Oxbow Books, 2012) and “Celse, lecteur de la Rhétorique d’Aristote ?” (in Lehmann, Y. (ed.), Aristoteles Romanus.
