Jennifer McQuillan has taught American literature at West Bloomfield High School in West Bloomfield, Michigan for the last fifteen years. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at Oakland Community College in Waterford, Michigan. She has published articles on Frederick Douglass and Baltimore poet Elizabeth Spires and is a former journalist for WJBK-TV and WWJ-AM. She is currently at work on an article about Detroit-born poet Philip Levine. She earned her master's degree in English from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and her bachelor's degrees in communications and English from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
