Clarissa Chenovick

Clarissa Chenovick is a Ph.D. candidate at Fordham University, where she also teaches Composition and Rhetoric. Her dissertation, “Literature as Salve for Body and Soul: Penitential Meditation and Embodied Reading in Late Medieval and Early Modern England,” considers the relationships between penitential doctrine and practice, medical theory, and the cognitive and psychophysiological goals of devotional reading.
