James May

James M. May is Professor of Classics and former Provost and Dean of the College at St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. He has published extensively on ancient rhetoric and oratory, and in particular on the Roman orator and statesman, Cicero. Major publications include Trials of Character: The Eloquence of Ciceronian Ethos; Brill's Companion to Cicero; Cicero: On the Ideal Orator (with Jakob Wisse); and A CIcero Reader.
