James I negotiates
marriage of his daughter to the Elector Palatine
James I and VI opens negotiations for a marriage between his
daughter, Elizabeth, and, the Elector Frederick V of the
Palatinate. In April, he moves to considering proposals for a match
with the Prince of Piedmont, but ultimately the marriage with the
Elector Palatine takes place in February 1613.
