Pope Julius II forms a Holy League comprising Ferdinand I of Aragon, Venice and the Papacy, whose ostensible purpose is to defend the unity of the Church. In reality, it is focused on driving the French out of Italy. The allies arrange for Ferdinand to acquire Navarre, while the Pope will regain Bologna and Ferrara.
