Pope Alexander VI confirms the Franco-Spanish Treaty of Granada (November 1500) for the partition of Naples and declares Louis XII King of Naples. The Pope creates Cesare Borgia Duke of Romagna and is assured that the French will not interfere with his policy of aggrandisement.
