Royal Governor of the Dominion of New England Sir Edmund Andros
(6th December, 1637 - 24th February, 1714) was ousted in April 1689
following the overthrow of James II. Though he was returned to
England he was never tried, and he later became the governor of
Virginia and Maryland.
