In 1919 the Prince of Wales (who would later become Edward VIII) made a tour lasting several months of Canada and the USA. He arrived in Canada in August and toured Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, and in November travelled to Washington where he met the US President, Woodrow Wilson.
