The Battle of Fishing Creek in South Carolina, on the 18th of
August, 1780 saw General Sir Banastre Tarleton (21st August, 1754 -
16th January,1833) lead the British Army in a defeat of a company
of militiamen led by Thomas Sumter (14th August, 1734 - 1st June,
1832).
