The unpopular Duke Ulrich of Wurttemburg attacks the free city of
Reutlingen, defying his nobility. The Swabian League, under Franz
von Sickingen, intervenes to rescue Reutlingen, and in the process
drives Ulrich out of his duchy. Wurttemburg is then sold by the
League to Charles V, coming under imperial control.
