The Battle of Mogadishu, or 'Black Hawk Down' took place between the 3rd and 4th of October, 1993, in Somalia. During the battle, which was fought between the United States troops supported by the United Nations Operation in Somalia II (UNOSOM II) and Somali militia, two US Black Hawk Helicopters were shot down and a further three were damaged.
