In the next 7-10 centuries, the Romanized territories were traversed and settled intermittently by a number of migratory waves: the Goths lived with the local people until the 4th century. Then the Huns, Gepids and Avars ruled Transylvania until the 8th century. Bulgarians incorporated some of the territory north of Danube into the First Bulgarian Empire, which it remained part of until the 11th century. The Pechenegs and Cumans are also mentioned by historic chronicles on the territory of Romania, until the founding of the Romanian principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia in the early 14th century.
