This collection of translations included stories from Boccaccio's Decameron and from Classical writers such as Livy and Herodotus. It was used as a source by many Elizabethan dramatists including John Webster (The Duchess of Malfi) and Shakespeare (probably a source for All's Well That Ends Well).
