Mary Pollock

Mary Sanders Pollock is a professor of English at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. She teaches nineteenth-century British literature, gender studies and environmental studies, and theory. Her books include Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning: A Creative Partnership (Ashgate 2002; Palgrave 2017), Figuring Animals, co-edited with Catherine Rainwater (Palgrave 2005), Victorian Literature and Film Adaptation, co-edited with Abigail Burnham Bloom (Cambria 2011), and Storytelling Apes: Primatology Narratives Past and Future (Penn State UP, 2016). Her article on Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s environmental thinking is forthcoming in Victorian Environmental Nightmares, edited by Mazzeno and Morrison (Palgrave 2019). She is currently writing a new biography of Gerald Durrell, Gerald Durrell and the Little Ones of God.
