Brian Corman is Professor of English at the University of Toronto. His publications include Genre and Generic Change in English Comedy, 1660-1710andWomen Novelists Before Jane Austen: The Critics and Their Canons. He edited The Broadview Anthology of Restoration and Eighteenth-Century Comedy,/em> and, for thirteen years, the University of Toronto Quarterly.
