Kathleen De Grave

Kathleen De Grave was a University Professor in the English Department at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Her specialties were American Literature before 1914, 20th century Ethnic Literature, and Creative Writing, Fiction. She is the author of three books, a scholarly analysis Swindler, Spy, Rebel: The Confidence Woman in 19th Century America (University of Missouri Press, 1995) and two novels Company Woman (See Sharp Press, 1995) and The Hour of Lead (See Sharp Press, 2012). She has also published many articles and reviews. Recently, she wrote the introduction to the "Uncensored" version of Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, published by See Sharp Press (2003). Her short stories “Cannery Night” and "Marrying the Veil" were published in the anthology Our Working Lives” (2000)and Margin (2004), respectively.
