Orestis Karavas

Orestis Karavas (PhD, UniversitĂ© de Strasbourg, 2004) was born on 26/6/1973 in Athens, Greece. He obtained his first degree from the University of Crete (Rethymno, Greece) before moving on to post-graduate studies at the Universities of Barcelona (Spain) and Strasbourg (France). Since 2005 he has taught Ancient Greek Literature at the University of the Peloponnese (Kalamata, Greece), where he is currently an Associate Professor. He has published widely on the literature of the Imperial Times and the epic poetry of Later Antiquity, and on Lucian of Samosata and Colluthus in particular. He is the author of Lucien et la tragĂ©die (De Gruyter, 2005).
