David Bergman

David Bergman is the author of Gaiety Transfigured: Gay Self-representation in American Literature (1991) and The Violet Hour: The Violet Quill and the Making of Gay Culture (2004) as well as two books of poetry. He is the winner of the George Elliston Prize for Poetry and a Lambda Literary Award for editing men on Men 2000. In addition he was the editor of John Ashbery's Reported Sighting: Art Chronicle, 1957-1987 (1989). He teaches at Towson University in Baltimore.
