Bill Hardwig

Bill Hardwig is Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies of English at the University of Tennessee, where he specializes in Southern, African American, and Appalachian literature, as well as regional writing in the United States.

He has edited a critical edition of Mary Noailles Murfree's 1884 collection In the Tennessee Mountains (University of Tennessee Press, 2009), and has published Upon Provincialism: Southern Literature and National Periodical Culture, 1870-1900, which explores travel writing and regional literature in the US South.
