Lara Broecke

Lara Broecke is a paintings conservator and technical art historian with a particular interest in the painting materials and techniques of the late medieval and early Renaissance periods in Italy. Her reconstruction of Cimabue's Arezzo crucifix, carried out at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, Cambridge Univesity and made using historically accurate methods, was hung in the Catholic chaplaincy in Cambridge, UK in 2008. Her translation and edition of Cennino Cennini's Il Libro dell'Arte, made as a visiting fellow at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, was published in London by Archetype in 2015. She is currently working on a translation and edition of The Bolognese Manuscript.
