Alisha Mathers

I am currently a taught English Literatures Masters student at Keele University, and I received first class honours in my undergraduate degree the year prior. I am particularly interested in migration, equality and social justice and the ways the arts can illuminate and contribute to such debates on policies and the so-called ‘migrant crisis’ - my recent publication in the Studies in Arts and Humanities Journal explored this. As I intend to situate my PhD research at the intersection of sanctuary and policy, I hope to pursue an academic career either in Migration or Cultural Studies.
