Mariam Zarif

I am currently based at King's College London and my current research is on the New Woman and New Journalism. My work focuses on the New Woman as represented in women’s penny weeklies in the late nineteenth century. She is particularly interested in the role of male editors who edited women’s magazines under female pseudonyms. I have recently written a book chapter on Netta Syrett for an edited collection, Women and Belles Lettres in the Long Nineteenth Century (forthcoming 2019).
