Adrien Mangili

Teaching assistant at the French department of the University of Geneva, I am writing a thesis on the ambiguous relationship between libertines and natural magic (1600-1650). More generally, I am interested in the interactions between literature and knowledge (especially natural philosophy) in the 16th and 17th centuries. I am also studying polemical writing strategies, and mainly erudite dissimulation techniques.
I therefore have a predilection for epistemological approaches to fictional – as well as philosophical and scientific – works, favoring a close reading of the texts.
