Janice Hallett (b.1969) is a crime writer, known for her ‘cosy’ and technology-driven crime novels. She studied English at University College London, followed by a Screenwriting MA at Royal Holloway, University of London. Hallett began her writing career at

Cosmetics International

, a magazine aimed at retailers of beauty products where she worked for fifteen years. Hallett then worked in government communications for the Cabinet Office, Home Office, and Department for International Development (Kellaway 2021). She is best known for her crime novels, which are characterised by their use of technology in the storytelling method, often in the form of epistolary emails, text exchanges, and recovered documents.
