Cardinal Ximenes de Cisneros intensifies a repressive policy
against the Moors in Granada. The Archbishop of Talavera had
previously taken responsibility for the conversion of the Granadan
Muslims, approaching the task through persuasion, but Cisneros
instead demanded speedy forced conversions and the burning of Arab
manuscripts.
