Pope Urban VIII reduces the number of annual feast days. He also, at the encouragement of the Jesuits, condemns Cornelius Jansen's work 'Augustinus', which argues that since St Augustine was chosen by God to reveal his truth, later teachings that contradicted him are invalid.
