The Belgian National Congress elect Louis, Duc de Nemours, second son of the French king Louis Philippe, as their King. However, this is subsequently rejected by Louis Philippe himself to prevent outcry in Britain, and eventually Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg is chosen in his place.
