is the Old Icelandic biography of Laurentius Kálfsson (1267-1331), whose long and multifaceted career took him from cathedral schoolmaster to legal advisor to Archbishop Jörundr of Niðarós, ostracized itinerant teacher, Benedictine monk, and, in the last decade of his life, bishop of the northern Icelandic diocese of Hólar.
