Verna Kale is a PhD candidate in English at The Pennsylvania State University. She specializes in 19th and 20th-century American literature and in textual editing. She is currently working on a dissertation about American women war correspondents under the direction of Dr. Sandra Spanier and Dr. Robin Schulze.
