Gyllian Raby

Gyllian Raby is Associate Professor at Brock University, Department of Dramatic Arts, Ontario, Canada. She teaches acting, directing, scriptwriting, commedia dell' arte and improvisation for devising theatre. She was the founding artistic director of One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre in Calgary (1981-88), chronicled in Martin Morrow's book "Wild Theatre", where she started her habit of talking back to classic plays and contracting audiences for plays about science. She was also artistic director of Northern Light Theatre in Edmonton (1988-93) . Prior to 2001, she worked as a director, dramaturge, playwright/adaptor, translator, and teacher across Canada and in the US.
