Kelly J. Mays

A graduate of Emory and Stanford universities, Kelly J. Mays is Associate Professor of English at University of Nevada Las Vegas and co-author, with Alison Booth, of The Norton Introduction to Literature (10th ed., 2010). Her two most recent articles, "Looking Backward, Looking Forward: The Victorians in the Rearview Mirror of Future History" (Victorian Studies, Spring 2011) and "How the Victorians Un-Invented Themselves: Architecture, the 'Battle of Styles' and the Emergence of the Term Victorian" (Journal of Victorian Culture, forthcoming), are part of a book-in-progress exploring just when, how, and why 19th-century Britons began to think of their era and themselves as "Victorian."
