Nigel Williams

Nigel Williams attended Wycliffe College before going up to Emmanuel College, Cambridge where he obtained an M.A. in English. He then qualified as a solicitor and worked in large commercial law firms in Bristol, becoming a partner in 1991 and specialising in Corporate/Commercial law. During a period of serious illness which prevented him from working he studied for his PhD at the University of Gloucestershire, where his doctoral thesis analysed the influence on George Orwell's writing of his five years in the Burma Police. He lives in Redwick, South Wales with an inspiring wife and a pacifist cat and his two daughters and rapidly expanding collection of grandchildren all live close enough to visit by appointment!
